Orc Diaries Entry #7: Goblin Stone wins Best Indie Game and other nominations

Hello everyone! We are a bit late with this update but as they say, it is better to be late than never.

As you all know from our previous blog posts and Discord announcements, we’ve been joining different game awards and conferences in the last six months of 2021. Even though Goblin Stone is still under development and with only a Demo build released on Steam, we are able to receive nominations on different categories and even took home a big award last year!

It’s all thanks to our dedicated team and supporters from our community!

Of course, these awards and nominations wouldn’t be possible without our team and community. The positive responses that we received from the community really encouraged us to take a step forward and compete with other indie developers. It was a nerve-wracking experience but we learned a lot from it. Game Awards and conferences gave us the opportunity to introduce Goblin Stone to more people and see its potential to turn into a successful game.

As we move forward to the Early Access release, more opportunities like these will surely come and we plan to join more competitions in the future. We hope that everyone will continue to support us throughout this journey!

DevGamm Award and post-ceremony celebration

DevGamm Fall 2021 is the event that we anticipated the most last year. The team was very excited when we first received the news that Goblin Stone was nominated to not only 1 but 2 categories in the DevGamm Awards: the Excellence in Visual Art Award and Best Indie Game Award.

It was a wonderful feeling to be able to compete for these awards along with 5 other indie game developers who also came from different parts of the world.

It was later announced through DevGamm’s Youtube live broadcast that Goblin Stone ultimately won the Best Indie Game Award! Our Studio Head, Vince McDonnell, gave a thank you message at the end of the announcement.

Thanks DevGamm! This award is a major accomplishment for Goblin Stone and for our team. It’s a real testament and validation to all the hard work that we put in over the years in making Goblin Stone. So I’d like to thank of course my team, both here in the Philippines and in Beijing, and of course our Discord community who supported and followed our development journey. And of course, Thank you DevGamm for this opportunity. It’s a really great experience for us to be here.

Cheers everyone! We really hope you enjoy our game when it comes out.
